I'm trying to learn new tools for teaching and attempting to build an organized collection of resources. Since I'll only be teaching one content area this coming school year I can maintain a disciplined focus on teaching language arts: or so the theory goes.
As usual, I began my afternoon exploration with a clear goal but soon found myself wandering far from it. I'm supposed to be learning how to set up a wiki for my class. In the process, I happened upon a wiki that led me to a slew of resources including livebinders. Then I found several live binders with great activities, so I began my own live binder with links to those activities. Then I stumbled upon a blog for teaching grammar through powerful sentences, which led me back to this blog so I could keep track of that last source.
It has been an interesting and fruitful journey, but I haven't gotten too far with my wiki. Maybe tomorrow.
